The City of Clarence-Rockland's contractor collects garbage at the curb once a week. The municipality also manages the municipal landfill site, located at 2335 Lalonde Road in Bourget.

Information regarding garbage collection

  • Place items at the roadside before 7:00 a.m. the day of collection or after 6:00 p.m. the night before collection day.
  • A maximum of three garbage bags of 90L (20 gallons) or three garbage cans of 90L.
  • Each bag or can, cannot exceed 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
  • Tags for additional bags are available at the City Hall.

Bulky items collection

The City of Clarence-Rockland offers a home collection service for bulky items (over 50 pounds). You can purchase bulky item tags at a cost of $10 for each object. They can be purchased by contacting City Hall.

Disposal of domestic hazardous waste

The domestic hazardous waste depot is located at 2335 Lalonde Road in Bourget. It must be noted that this service is for residential use only and commercial, industrial or farming products cannot be accepted.

 

It accepts the following hazardous products free of charge:

  • Oil, antifreeze and gasoline
  • Paint, adhesives and aerosols
  • Batteries of all kinds
  • Propane tanks and fire extinguishers
  • Fluorescents tubes

It doesn't accept the following products : 

  • Smoke detectors
  • CO2 detectors
  • Syringes
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • BPC
  • Explosives (including fireworks)
  • Munition

Hours of operation

The depot is open all year round at the following hours:

Summer hours from April 1 to November 30

  • Tuesday: 8:30 am-12:30 pm
  • Thursday: 8:30 am-12:30 pm
  • Friday: 8:30 am-5:30 pm
  • Saturday: 8:30 am-4:00 pm

Winter hours from December 1 to March 30

  • Tuesday: 8:30 am-12:30 pm
  • Friday: 8:30 am-5:00 pm
  • Saturday: 8:30 am-12:30 pm

Cloth Diaper Grant Program Application

To be eligible you must:

  • Have a child between January 1st and December 31

  • Be a resident of the City of Clarence-Rockland

  • Use cloth diapers from birth to potty training

  • Submit documentation in the first 6 months after the birth

  • Purchase a minimum of 20 cloth diapers
