Clarence-Rockland victim of a cyber breach
CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – October 28, 2021 - The City of Clarence-Rockland was the victim of a cyber breach last Monday, October 25, 2021. The municipality has retained a team of cyber security experts in order to get the systems fully operational as quickly as possible.
City officials immediately notified the Ontario Provincial Police and, in order to not interfere with the ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
The City is still determining the extent of the cyber breach. To minimize further risks, the City has disabled its email service and therefore it is not currently possible to communicate with the City via email. Several municipal services remain available on the municipal website and we encourage residents to use them.
