End of the State of Emergency
CLARENCE-ROCKLAND – June 2, 2022 - The City of Clarence-Rockland has lifted the State of Emergency that it has been operating under since Saturday, May 21, as a result of Derecho storm. As soon as the emergency was declared, we activated our emergency plan and opened the Emergency Operations Centre. The City's employees who make up the Emergency Operations Centre, as well as its partners such as the OPP, the United Counties of Prescott-Russell, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit and the Red Cross, met every day to:
- Direct tree and branch removal operations on roads and assist HydroOne.
- Open and maintain an emergency shelter for citizens.
- Procuring, coordinating, and delivering resources to the affected area and disaster victims.
- Share storm information with the public.
The municipality will continue its work to clean up the debris and assist residents in returning to a normal state. We thank our community partners and employees for demonstrating their dedication to residents at a time when many were also affected by the storm.
