The CR Market is now accepting applications for 2024.  We are asking interested vendors to submit their application form as soon as possible so that we can gauge interest for the 2024 market season.

  • food concession (beverages and ready-to-eat items for consumption at the market)
  • services (sales of non-physical items provided by vendors using their own skill, artistry, and training, such as massage, face painting, intuitive/psychic readings, spa services)

NOTE: We are unable to accommodate vendors who sell products that are mass produced or obtained from direct marketing, affiliate, or catalogue businesses, or from existing ‘brick and mortar’ businesses during the regular market season.

Want to represent a community group at the market?

We are also accepting applications from non-profit community groups!

Vendor Rules and Regulations
  • The CR Market will operate the second Sunday of every month from May to September. Hours of operation will be from 9:30AM to 2PM (please note that the market will run in inclement weather).  The CR Market will be situated around the walking path in Simon Park (1450 Du Parc Ave, Rockland, ON).
  • All vendors must put weight (40 lbs) on their tent legs.
  • All Vendors are responsible for their own liability insurance coverage. The Market will not be held responsible for losses, theft, or accident or for the products or conduct of other vendors.
  • Vendors must grow/raise, bake/cook or make the products they sell. In the case of food products (e.g. bread, baked goods, etc.), the vendor(s) must make the product, but do not have to grow the ingredients themselves.  All arts and crafts must be hand-made.
  • Priority will be given to vendors coming from within a 100 km radius of the Market location.
  • Priority will be given to vendors committed to attending the full season (the first Sunday of each month from June to October).  The market also welcomes and encourages daily vendors as space permits.
  • Market Fees: $40.00/Market (taxes included)
  • Vendor applications and payments can be made online.
  • The Market will offer one stall per week for the use of community groups. These groups may provide information on their organizations or raise funds but are not permitted to sell food or other items that are normally available at the market unless otherwise approved by the Market Manager.  Arrangements for these groups will be made through the Manager of Recreation and Culture. Space is provided free of charge for non-profit community groups, musicians, and entertainers.
  • Vendors may request up to two (2) stalls with the understanding that the allocation of a second stall will be based on availability.
  • There may be more than one vendor per market stall provided that each vendor is involved in production of the items for sale. Each vendor must complete the Vendor Application form agreeing to abide by the rules of the market and attesting that they are involved in production.
  • Vendors may rent a table for $10 per market date.  Vendors are required to provide their own shelter and chairs if desired. Awnings or canopies must be no bigger than 10ft x 10ft.  All equipment must be sufficiently and safely anchored to the ground. Awning/Canopies are to be secured with tent weights of at least 40 pounds per leg.  Unsecured shelters create a significant safety hazard. The Market Manager has the authority to request the removal of any inadequately secured shelter.
  • Electricity is not available to vendors at this time. Should electricity be required vendors will need to provide their own portable generators.
  • Vendors may request a perimeter location with vehicle access with the understanding that these locations are limited and may only be granted by the Market Manager in situations where the need exists. Vendors who have not been given specific permission to park their vehicle beside their stall are required to park away from the Market in allocated vendor parking spaces.
  • Vendors must remove all vehicles prior to the opening of the market until the closing of the market at 2PM.  Vendors cannot re-enter the market with a vehicle until the market has closed.
  • Vendors are responsible for their space and are encouraged to make it eye-catching. It is the responsibility of vendors to clean their area after each market.
  • Vendors are solely responsible for obtaining all relevant licenses, permits, inspections and certificates for the sale of their products. Compliance with both Provincial and Federal Sales Tax Regulations is also solely the responsibility of the individual Vendor.
  • Vendors must display a sign in their booth identifying themselves, and their contact information. Any required documentation, Health Unit inspection (if applicable), Organic certificate (if applicable), must be displayed.  Signage outside your booth space is at the discretion of the Market Manager.
  • It is the responsibility of food vendors (those selling prepared food) to fill out the “Special Events – Temporary Food Vendor’s Notification Form” found at the link below and submit it to the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU).  The form must be completed with a breakdown of what food is going to be offered from the vendor. Temporary food vendor form: https://eohu.ca/files/resources/10814-fs-19e.pdf
  • Vendors are required to display the pricing of all products for sale. Vendors are solely responsible for adhering to all food packaging, handling, and labelling requirements in accordance with federal, provincial, and municipal Health Unit requirements.
  • Vendors must not sell any items prior to opening of the market.  All vendors must be ready to sell at the opening of the market at 9:30AM.
  • Vendors must advise the Market Manager by 9 pm the Friday before the market if they know they will be unable to attend.
  • We wish to maintain a cooperative and positive atmosphere at the CR Market. All vendors at the market shall adhere to and support a positive market environment by acting in a responsible, respectful manner.  Vendors are requested to address concerns to the Market Manager (not to customers or other vendors).
  • Vendors who fail to abide by the market rules and regulations, cause disturbance, make false declarations about their goods, fail to meet Health Department standards, or fail to deal with customer complaints will receive a verbal warning, either in person or by telephone. Continued lack of adherence to market rules and regulations will result in the vendor being removed from the market.
  • All Vendors must complete and sign a CR Market Vendor Application form stating that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by the market rules and regulations without exception. Vendor applicants must list on their application all items to be sold. Unsigned applications will be rejected.
  • The City of Clarence-Rockland reserves the right to change and/or amend these CR Market Rules and Regulations. Changes and additions may be made at any time. All registered vendors will be advised of modifications to the CR Market Rules and Regulations.
